    I viewed the video. I actually seen nothing that would be classified as resistance.
    I don’t give a damn if the man is black or white he did nothing but try to tell the NYPD what the hell was happening.
    Police brutality? This was nothing short of per-meditated. And the dick that went after the camera had no cause to tough the boy all he was doing was making sure that things were on the up and up.
    IMO when you take people’s cameras after filming something like this all that is telling me and millions of other viewers is YOU KNOW YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG AND YOU DON’T WANT TO GET CAUGHT.
    Now if people cannot see that then let me know where there eye doctor is and I will pay for a new pair of glasses for you.

    There is an “Update” to this article which reads:

    “UPDATE: The Staten Island district attorney is investigating the shocking death of a 400-pound asthmatic dad after a city cop placed him in a chokehold.
    Eric Garner, 43, died Thursday after a sidewalk takedown by five NYPD officers making an arrest outside a Tompkinsville beauty parlor.
    “My office is working along with the NYPD to do a complete and thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Garner’s death,” said District Attorney Daniel M. Donovan Jr. in a Friday statement.

    I can’t find the article, but I think there was one on Drudge which said the Policeman had been arrested. It looks to me like excessive force was used by the police, but let’s wait to hear both sides of the story.

      If the roles were reversed, and a civilian did the exact same thing to a police officer, and the officer died, murder charges would have already been filed.

      This is what your article says:

      But a source close to the Medical Examiner’s investigation said coroners are also investigating whether the chokehold still contributed to Garner’s death by aggravating his pre-existing conditions of obesity, asthma and possible heart disease. He died of cardiac arrest in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

      “If an obese person with co-existing medical problems can’t get good oxygenation to begin with, then a chokehold could put him over the edge,” and lead to a homicide finding, the source said.

        I did not write the linked articles. I’m just supplying information as it comes available. I have no opinion one way or the other about causality. My main point is, there are always two sides to every story. It usually a good idea to know both sides before jumping off that bridge to damn one side or the other.
