Chris Palmer is a former ESPN NBA reporter.

He praised protesters for burning down 189 units of affordable housing.

But later, when protestors came to his own neighborhood, he got really scared.

Here’s a screenshot of his hypocritical tweets. You can see a bigger version of the image at this link: https://i.redd.it/szbv1kn485251.jpg

In the first tweet, Palmer shows a photograph of 189 units of affordable housing that was burned down by protestors. Palmer praised the protestors with the following words:

“Burn that shit down. Burn it all down.”

However, very soon afterwards, Palmer made two tweets where he complained about protestors coming to his own neighborhood.

In the first of those two tweets, he said:

“They just attacked our sister community down the street. It’s a gated community and they tried to climb the gates. They had to beat them back. Then destroyed a Starbucks and are now in front of my building. Get these animals TF out of my neighborhood. Go back to where you live.”

In the second of those two tweets, he said:

“Welp. They’re gone. Security called the cops and they swarmed. Some scattered, others were arrested. (You hate to see it.) Tense moments. There’s graffiti everywhere. We live in a beautiful, safe community and have pride. These people had no pride and weren’t protestors.”

Palmer’s hypocrisy is some of the worst that I have ever seen.

Graphic video shows idiot protestor trying to stop a FedEx truck that was pulling two trailers. The result was exactly what you would expect.

This just happened in St. Louis, Missouri. A protestor, who apparently does not understand the laws of physics, tried to stop a FedEx truck that was pulling two trailers.

For those of you who do understand the laws of physics, it ended exactly as you would expect.

This video was filmed by a guy named Jared Arms.

I don’t know how long Facebook will let this video stay up.

Warning: This video is very graphic.

Black Firefighter Spent His Life Savings To Open A Bar. Then Minneapolis Looters Burned It Down.

Black Firefighter Spent His Life Savings To Open A Bar. Then Minneapolis Looters Burned It Down.

By Andrew Kerr

May 29, 2020

A black firefighter who invested his life savings into opening up a sports bar in Minneapolis was reduced to tears after looters destroyed his life’s work.

Korboi Balla originally planned to open his bar in March, but those plans had to be put on hold due to the coronavirus crisis. Balla had been gearing up to finally open his bar after Minnesota gave the go-ahead for restaurants to begin reopening on June 1.

But by Friday morning, Balla’s bar was little more than a pile of bricks after protests of the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died in Minneapolis police custody on Monday, led to widespread rioting and looting in the city.

“I don’t know what we’re going to do,” Korboi Balla told CBS News on Thursday morning while holding back tears. “It hurts, man. It’s not fair, it’s not right. We’ve been working so hard for this place. It’s not just for me, it’s for my family.”

While CBS reporters were interviewing Balla on Thursday morning, looters broke back into his bar to try to break into his safe.

“As we were standing in front of the restaurant, people were in the back trying to steal the safe!” Balla’s wife, Twyana Balla, wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday. “This just happened an hour ago in broad daylight!”

Twyana Balla added in the post that she and her husband do not have insurance for their business.

“I’m hearing people say F*** the business they have insurance WELL WE DON’T AND THIS IS ALL OUT OF POCKET,” Twyana Balla wrote. “Let someone come run in your home and loot for the cause then let’s see you be ok with it!”

“Justice for George Floyd but not this kind of justice,” she wrote.

Her husband’s restaurant had been reduced to a pile of bricks by Friday morning, Twyana Balla said in a video posted to Facebook.

“There must have been an explosion because the whole front part of the building is gone,” she said.

Balla launched a GoFundMe campaign on Thursday to raise funds to rebuild his bar. The crowdfunding campaign has brought in over $173,000 for the small business owner in its first 24 hours.

More than 170 businesses in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area have been damaged or looted since Floyd’s death on Monday, police told the Twin Cities Pioneer Press.

Minneapolis vandalism targets include 189-unit affordable housing development

The apartments were expected to hit the market later this year.

By Jim Buchta

May 28, 2020

The affordable housing development that burned late Wednesday in south Minneapolis was a six-story building with 189 units that was under construction and expected to open later this year.

The under-construction affordable housing development that burned in the widespread violence in south Minneapolis late Wednesday and early Thursday was to be a six-story rental building with 189 apartments for low-income renters, including more than three dozen for very low-income tenants.

Construction began last fall on Midtown Corner, which was expected to be completed and ready for occupancy this year. Late Wednesday the wood-framed upper floors of the building were fully engulfed in flames, with thick plumes of smoke that figured prominently in widely viewed photos of the riots. By Thursday morning, what had been an active construction site was reduced to a pile of smoldering ashes atop what was left of the concrete first-floor commercial space.

The redevelopment project was on the site of the former Rainbow Foods grocery store at Lake Street and Hiawatha Avenue in south Minneapolis.

The developer, Twin Cities-based Wellington Management, declined to comment Thursday on the fate of the project.

Wellington has done several income-restricted rental projects throughout the Twin Cities on difficult-to-redevelop sites, including offices and an apartment building that are under construction along Penn Avenue in north Minneapolis.

Wellington has been a prolific developer and investor in the area for more than a decade. Over the years the company has developed several rental buildings in the Lake and Hiawatha corridor, and it has also invested in commercial projects including the Greenway Office Building and the Hi-Lake Shopping Center.

The fire also heavily damaged 7-Sigma, a high-tech manufacturing company that’s occupied a low-rise industrial building across the street from the Midtown Corner site for more than 30 years. The entire roof and upper floors of that brick building were destroyed, and water spilled out of broken windows on the lower floors as firefighters continued dousing the building with water early Thursday.

Barb Jeanetta is executive director of Alliance Housing, a nonprofit that has two rental buildings in the area, including Hiawatha Commons, an 80-unit low-income apartment building adjacent to Cub Foods and Target. Some of the first-floor retail tenants were looted and vandalized, but the building was largely unscathed.

“It’s just such a firestorm right now,” she said. “All in all, we came out pretty lucky.”

More proof that that the lockdown is a scam. According to the Washington Post, the fatality rate of COVID-19 “would probably be 0.13 percent for people outside nursing homes”

By Daniel Alman (aka Dan from Squirrel Hill)

May 29, 2020

You can read my complete list of reasons why the lockdown is a scam here: Here are 109 reasons why I’m against the COVID-19 lockdowns

The Washington Post reports: (the bolding is mine)

https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/tell-me-what-to-do-please-even-experts-struggle-with-coronavirus-unknowns/2020/05/25/e11f9870-9d08-11ea-ad09-8da7ec214672_story.html

The lethality of the virus has been hard to estimate because of the lack of testing and the paucity of solid data on how many people have been infected. That data is now coming in, however, including a report by researchers at the University of Southern California and the Los Angeles County health department, published in JAMA, that described a survey of Los Angeles County residents who were tested for antibodies to the virus. The authors estimated that about 4 percent of the population had been infected as of April 10 and 11.

Although the report did not offer an infection fatality rate, lead author Neeraj Sood, a professor of health policy at USC, said it would probably be 0.13 percent for people outside nursing homes and 0.26 percent — identical to the CDC best estimate — when people in nursing homes were included.

So we caused 38 million people to lose their jobs, we destroyed huge numbers of small businesses, we shut the schools down, we laid off over a million health care workers, we canceled cancer treatments, organ transplants, and hip surgeries, we prevented recovering addicts from attending their 12 step meetings, we increased the rates of suicide and drug overdoses, we had people arrested for being alone at the beach, and we scared everyone in the population who was gullible enough to fall for this scam, all for no reason at all, because the lockdown is actually killing more people than it is saving.

Still even more proof that the lockdown is a scam: New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham violated her own lockdown so she could buy jewelry

More proof that the lockdown is a scam! A scientific study said, “Home outbreaks were the dominant category (254 of 318 outbreaks; 79.9%)”

By Daniel Alman (aka Dan from Squirrel Hill)

May 27, 2020

Here’s another one that I’ll be adding to my list the next time I make an update. You can read my current list at: Here are 100 reasons why I’m against the COVID-19 lockdowns

The alleged purpose of the lockdown was to keep people at home so they would be “safe.”

However, a scientific study of COVID-19 outbreaks stated the following:

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.04.04.20053058v1.full.pdf

“Home outbreaks were the dominant category (254 of 318 outbreaks; 79.9%)”

If the lockdown was really about keeping people “safe,” they would be banning people from their homes, instead of forcing them to stay there.

If they really want to make people “safe,” they should force them to be outside all the time. Because the same study said:

“All identified outbreaks of three or more cases occurred in an indoor environment”

More proof that the lockdown is a scam: New Zealand health minister David Clark violated his own lockdown

My list of reasons for why I’m against the lockdown keeps getting bigger and bigger. You can read my current list here: Here are 80 reasons why I’m against the COVID-19 lockdowns

Here’s one that I’ll be adding to my list the next time I update it. This is from early April, but I just found out about it.

The Guardian reported:

New Zealand health minister demoted after beach visit broke lockdown rules

David Clark called himself an ‘idiot’ for driving his family 20km to the beach on the first weekend of the national stay-at-home measures

As is so often the case, with many such examples on my list: lockdowns for thee, but not for me.

You know what’s truly dangerous? Jumping into a hot, molten pool of glowing orange lava at an active volcano.

You want to know how I know that such a thing truly dangerous? Because the people who tell us not to do it always follow the same advice that they  expect everyone else to follow.

But with lockdowns, time and time and time again, that is not the case.

Here are 10 more reasons why I’m against the lockdown

By Daniel Alman (aka Dan from Squirrel Hill)

May 22, 2020

The complete list can be read here: Here are 80 reasons why I’m against the COVID-19 lockdowns

Here are the 10 new items:

71) Neil Ferguson’s Imperial model “could go down in history as the most devastating software mistake of all time, in terms of economic costs and lives lost”

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2020/05/16/neil-fergusons-imperial-model-could-devastating-software-mistake/

72) Childhood vaccine rates plummet amid coronavirus pandemic, risking new health crisis

Childhood vaccine rates for preventable diseases like measles and whooping cough have fallen during the COVID-19 pandemic, raising the possibility of an additional health crisis.

In New York City…  the number of vaccine doses administered from March 23 to May 9 fell 63 percent compared with the same period last year.

In children older than 2 years, it fell 91 percent…

… Doctors offices have been closed…

… The numbers in New York match a national trend…

… from mid-March to mid-April, doctors in the federally funded Vaccines for Children program for the uninsured ordered about 2.5 million fewer doses of all routine non-influenza vaccines and 250,000 fewer doses of measles-containing vaccines compared to the same period in 2019…

73) Rise in female genital mutilation in Somalia linked to coronavirus shutdown

Somali girls out of school and stuck at home have been subject to a “massive rise” in female genital mutilation…

“It’s a lifetime torture for girls. The pain continues … until the girl goes to the grave. It impacts her education, ambition … everything.”

… the UNFPA has warned that globally 2 million more girls could be cut over the next decade because of how the global pandemic has disrupted efforts to end the practice.

74) Who Are The REAL Fascists?

75) More than 500 doctors signed this letter:

https://www.scribd.com/document/462319362/A-Doctor-a-Day-Letter-Signed#fullscreen&from_embed

In medical terms, the shutdown was a mass casualty incident.

During a mass casualty incident, victims are immediately triaged to black, red, yellow, or green. The first group, triage level black, includes those who require too many resources to save during a mass crisis. The red group has severe injuries that are survivable with treatment, the yellow group has serious injuries that are not immediately life threatening, and the green group has minor injuries.

The red group receives highest priority. The next priority is to ensure that the other two groups do not deteriorate a level. Decades of research have shown that by strictly following this algorithm, we save the maximum number of lives.

Millions of Americans are already at triage level red. These include 150,000 Americans per month who would have had a new cancer detected through routine screening that hasn’t happened, millions who have missed routine dental care to fix problems strongly linked to heart disease/death, and preventable cases of stroke, heart attack, and child abuse. Suicide hotline phone calls have increased 600%.

Tens of millions are at triage level yellow. Liquor sales have increased 300-600%, cigarettes sales have increased, rent has gone unpaid, family relationships have become frayed, and millions of well-child check-ups have been missed.

Hundreds of millions are at triage level green. These are people who currently are solvent, but at risk should economic conditions worsen. Poverty and financial uncertainty is closely linked to poor health.

A continued shutdown means hundreds of millions of Americans will downgrade a level. The following are real examples from our practices.

Patient E.S. is a mother with two children whose office job was reduced to part-time and whose husband was furloughed. The father is drinking more, the mother is depressed and not managing her diabetes well, and the children are barely doing any schoolwork.

Patient A.F. has chronic but previously stable health conditions. Her elective hip replacement was delayed, which caused her to become nearly sedentary, resulting in a pulmonary embolism in April.

Patient R.T. is an elderly nursing home patient, who had a small stroke in early March but was expected to make a nearly complete recovery. Since the shutdown, he has had no physical or speech therapy, and no visitors. He has lost weight, and is deteriorating rather than making progress.

Patient S.O. is a college freshman who cannot return to normal life, school, and friendships. He risks depression, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, trauma, and future financial uncertainty.

We are alarmed at what appears to be the lack of consideration for the future health of our patients. The downstream health effects of deteriorating a level are being massively under-estimated and under-reported. This is an order of magnitude error.

It is impossible to overstate the short, medium, and long-term harm to people’s health with a continued shutdown. Losing a job is one of life’s most stressful events, and the effect on a person’s health is not lessened because it also has happened to 30 million other people. Keeping schools and universities closed is incalculably detrimental for children, teenagers, and young adults for decades to come.

The millions of casualties of a continued shutdown will be hiding in plain sight, but they will be called alcoholism, homelessness, suicide, heart attack, stroke, or kidney failure. In youths it will be called financial instability, unemployment, despair, drug addiction, unplanned pregnancies, poverty, and abuse.

Because the harm is diffuse, there are those who hold that it does not exist. We, the undersigned, know otherwise.

California doctors say they’ve seen more deaths from suicide than coronavirus since lockdowns

By Andrew Mark Miller

May 21, 2020

Doctors in Northern California say they have seen more deaths from suicide than they’ve seen from the coronavirus during the pandemic.

“The numbers are unprecedented,” Dr. Mike deBoisblanc of John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, California, told ABC 7 News about the increase of suicide deaths adding that he’s seen a “year’s worth of suicides” in the last four weeks alone.

DeBoisblanc said he believes it’s time for California officials to end the stay-at-home order and let people back out into their communities.

“Personally, I think it’s time,” he said. “I think, originally, this was put in place to flatten the curve and to make sure hospitals have the resources to take care of COVID patients. We have the current resources to do that, and our other community health is suffering.”

Kacey Hansen, a trauma center nurse at John Muir Medical Center for over 30 years, says she’s not only worried about the increased suicide attempts but also about the hospital’s ability to save as many patients as usual.

“What I have seen recently, I have never seen before,” Hansen said. “I have never seen so much intentional injury.”

Businesses across California have started defying stay-at-home orders imposed by Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, and hundreds of protesters have hit the streets, making the argument that the orders were only meant to flatten the curve of the virus’s spread, which Newsom himself said was achieved in mid-April.

Suicide has been an increasingly significant problem across the country as the coronavirus outbreak caused stay-at-home orders that led to unemployment and stress.

By late March, more people had died in just one Tennessee county from suicide than had died in the entire state directly from the virus.

A study published in early May suggested the coronavirus could lead to at least 75,000 deaths directly brought on by anxiety from the virus, job losses, and addiction to alcohol and drugs.

Another study conducted by Just Facts around the same time computed a broad array of scientific data showing that stress is one of the deadliest health hazards in the world and determined that the coronavirus lockdowns will destroy 7 times more years of human life than strict lockdowns can save.

Earlier this week, a group of over 600 doctors signed their names on a letter to President Trump, referring to the continued lockdowns as a “mass casualty incident” and urged him to do what he can to ensure they come to an end.

Ohio Judge Deems the State’s COVID-19 Lockdown ‘Arbitrary, Unreasonable, and Oppressive’

The ruling says the state’s top health official exceeded her statutory authority by ordering “nonessential” businesses to close.

By Jacob Sullum

May 20, 2020

Ohio’s COVID-19 lockdown is illegal, a state judge ruled today, because it exceeds the powers granted by the statute under which it was imposed. Responding to a May 8 lawsuit filed by the 1851 Center for Constitutional Law on behalf of 35 gyms, Lake County Court of Common Pleas Judge Eugene Lucci enjoined Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton from penalizing the plaintiffs or similar businesses for violating the lockdown, provided “they operate in compliance with all applicable safety regulations.”

In issuing her business closure and stay-at-home orders, Acton relied on a statute that gives her department “ultimate authority in matters of quarantine and isolation.” Lucci concluded that Ohio’s lockdown does not meet the legal requirements for “isolation,” which is defined as “the separation of an infected individual from others during the period of disease communicability,” or a “quarantine,” which is defined as “the restriction of the movements or activities of a well individual or animal who has been exposed to a communicable disease during the period of communicability of that disease.” A quarantine is supposed to last only as long as “the usual incubation period of the disease”—two to 14 days, in the case of COVID-19.

By contrast, Lucci writes, “The director has quarantined the entire people of the state of Ohio, for much more than 14 days. The director has no statutory authority to close all businesses, including the plaintiffs’ gyms, which she deems non-essential for a period of two months. She has acted in an impermissibly arbitrary, unreasonable, and oppressive manner and without any procedural safeguards.”

Gov. Mike DeWine already planned to let gyms and fitness centers reopen next Tuesday, subject to social distancing and other COVID-19 precautions. But Lucci’s injunction adds to the smattering of court decisions recognizing that state officials must comply with the law even when they are responding to a public health emergency.

In this case, Acton purported to criminalize a wide range of previously legal conduct, threatening violators with a $750 fine and up to 90 days in jail. But those misdemeanor penalties are legally authorized only for people who violate orders that fit within the health department’s statutory powers. Lucci concluded that Acton’s orders did not.

“The general public would be harmed if an injunction was not granted,” Lucci writes. “There would be a diminishment of public morale, and a feeling that one unelected individual could exercise such unfettered power to force everyone to obey impermissibly oppressive, vague, arbitrary, and unreasonable rules that the director devised and revised, and modified and reversed, whenever and as she pleases, without any legislative guidance. The public would be left with feelings that their government is not accountable to them.”

In addition to the injunction, the plaintiffs are seeking compensation for lost income and legal costs.

“Constitutions are written to prevent governments from arbitrarily interfering in citizens’ lives and businesses,” 1851 Center Executive Director Maurice Thompson said in response to the ruling. “On that front, the call to action is clear: The governor and health director may no longer impose their own closures and regulations and write their own criminal penalties to enforce those regulations and closures. We remain available to serve those who are caught in the state’s tangled web of unlawful orders.”

While Lucci focused on the statutory provision addressing quarantines, Case Western Reserve law professor Jonathan Adler suggests in a Volokh Conspiracy post that another, more general provision of the law, allowing “special or standing orders or rules…for preventing the spread of contagious or infectious diseases,” could be read to authorize the lockdown. Replying by email, Thompson says that interpretation would improperly delegate legislative powers to the executive branch. “That section is vague, broad, and unconfined,” he writes. “It fails to place guardrails on administrative authority, especially when [the law] authorizes imposition of criminal penalties for any disobedience of ‘any order’ made pursuant thereto, without more.”
