Eddie Money confirms that his 1982 radio and MTV hit “Shakin'” includes one of George Carlin’s seven dirty words

In 1982, Eddie Money had a hit on the radio and MTV with his song “Shakin’.”

Today, most online sources cite one of the song’s lyrics as:

We did some shakin’ ’til the end of the night.

But long before the internet existed, I knew that the words were something else.

And Money recently verified to Rolling Stone magazine what I had known all along. Here’s an excerpt from their recent interview of him. (The bolding is from the original.)

In “Shakin’,” there’s an ostensibly “misheard” lyric where you sing “Her tits were shakin’,” but come on, you were definitely saying that, right?

You know what? Nobody noticed it and [my manager] Bill Graham was so, so pissed off at me because he said that could’ve been a Top Five single, and “you and your sophomoric fucking bullshit, now I can’t get it on the radio.” But when I talked to people, they go, “I loved it when you said that! Wow!”

You didn’t make a clean radio version?

No, there was never a radio version because nobody caught it til the end. Yeah, I said it and I thought it was funny, but in the long run I wish I wouldn’t have said it because that record probably would’ve went double platinum. But I thought it was funny. You know how it is, you know?

To get a song with “tits” in it played on the radio? I don’t.

I was high. I didn’t give a shit. I said it. Who cares?

Here’s the video of the song. Skip to 1:02 for the relevant part:

Hypocrite liberals who claim to care about illegal immigrants are against letting them live in their own neighborhood

Now this is just rich.

A bunch of liberal Democrats who live in the Washington D.C. area, and who claim to care about illegal immigrants, are trying to prevent the construction of new shelters for them in their own neighborhood.

The Washington Post recently reported:

… nearly uniform outcry from Washington-area politicians incensed at federal plans to build new shelters for migrant children in Northern Virginia and the District . The shelters, state-licensed and similar to scores across the county in operation since before President Trump took office, would help move migrant children out of squalid, cramped Border Patrol stations near the U.S.-Mexico border. They would provide a way station for unaccompanied minors while federal officials seek to place them with U.S.-based relatives or foster families.

But local politicians, nearly all Democrats, have balked at cooperating with federal authorities on any immigration matter. They have denounced the proposed new shelters with objections that smack of NIMBYism masquerading as humane concern for children. This month, the administration of D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser (D) enacted emergency rules that blocked a planned federal shelter.

There are currently some 8,700 minors, mainly teenagers, housed in about 170 such shelters nationwide. For most, the stay in those facilities is relatively brief — on average, a little more than six weeks, until the Office of Refugee Resettlement, an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services, places them with relatives or foster families. Those facilities had insufficient beds to handle the surge of unaccompanied minors who crossed the border earlier this year, hence the appalling images of children stuck in jam-packed Border Patrol outposts and emergency detention centers.

By building new shelters, the government would add future capacity to avoid such bottlenecks and terrible conditions in the event of another spike in border crossings.

… Existing shelters, scattered in 23 states including Virginia, provide a range of services, including English instruction, health care, counseling, access to legal aid and recreation — just as they did during the Obama administration.

The opposition does not withstand scrutiny… By blocking them, local officials would become part of the problem by contributing to future logjams and inhumane conditions at the border. That’s a bad outcome for those who profess to care about treating immigrants humanely.

Shame on these hypocrite liberal Democrats!

When Bill Maher dies, I hope that he is very old, free from pain, happy, sexually satisfied, and high on all of his favorite drugs

Bill Maher just said the following about David Koch:

“I’m glad he’s dead and I hope the end was painful.”

You can see Maher saying those words, and other things about Koch, in this video: (skip to 3:06)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytQXasWZe5Q

I have always enjoyed listening to Maher’s political commentary (and that includes the many times that I have disagreed with him), and I will continue to do so. I don’t have cable TV, but I do watch him on his YouTube channel at this link.

When Bill Maher dies, I hope that he is very old, free from pain, happy, sexually satisfied, and high on all of his favorite drugs.

I also hope that everyone else who dies, regardless of their political views or affiliation, will do so in whatever condition it is that causes them to feel peace, joy, happiness, and comfort.

How Obamacare blew up the student loan crisis

How Obamacare blew up the student loan crisis

July 2, 2019

Sen. Elizabeth Warren wants to cancel student loan debt for 95% of debtors. Fellow 2020 hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders wants to cancel all of it. What they and every other statist and socialist eager to default on trillions owed to taxpayers forget that President Barack Obama nationalizing student loans brought us to this catastrophe in the first place.

Lost in the kerfuffle and fuming of the Affordable Care Act’s passage in 2010 was the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act, signed into law just seven days after Obamacare. Half of the act consisted of small and otherwise innocuous amendments to the ill-fated Affordable Care Act, but the other half, Title II, radically overhauled the country’s student loan industry, replacing federally backed bank loans with direct government lending.

The private student loan industry was already dysfunctional and never truly private. The largest private student loan lender, Sallie Mae, originated as a government-sponsored lender, and the government-subsidized market only emerged out of a small but much older federal student loan market. But Title II replaced a mess with a nightmare.

Universities took advantage of the new, easier loan requirements to raise tuition rates still further. From 1995 to 2012, the average tuition at a 4-year private college had risen by 30%. In the following four years alone, it spiked by another than 12%. Researchers at the New York Federal Reserve Bank famously found in 2015 that the pass-through effect of subsidized federal student loans on tuition raised rates by 60 cents for every dollar of loans spent. Although lefty politicians love to hate on fraudulent for-profit schools and blame them for the problem, only 9% of all college students in the country attend for-profit institutions. More to the point, nonprofits still act like for-profits anyway.

For decades, student loan debt had remained in the low hundreds of billions, but during Obama’s presidency, it exploded from $150 billion to more than $1 trillion, the overwhelming majority of which is owed to the government. As student loan debt continues to spiral upward, the federal government’s revenue streams for the programs are becoming more tenuous than ever. For instance, the Department of Education has found that income-driven repayment plans, which allow lower-income borrowers to dodge payments and receive complete debt forgiveness 25 years after the loan initiation, increased by 625% alone.

Now Sanders and Warren want to erase the whole thing with a magic wand and nationalize the colleges’ tuition-hiking scam.

On a moral level, canceling student debt more or less translates to defrauding taxpayers. On a practical level, it defeats whatever incentive structure we’ve attempted to build into the loan process. Whereas home loans are secured by houses as collateral, debtors can’t exactly take your brain away when you default. To send a message both to students and colleges that loans constitute free cash will then only exacerbate the tuition crisis we face.

The federal government set the stage for this problem, exacerbated it by subsidizing and regulating private student loans, and finally sent it into a trillion dollar tailspin by nationalizing the whole mess. If the past serves as any lesson, the government’s best bet is to get out of this imploding industry entirely and refocus on forcing colleges to get some skin in the game.

Ann Coulter Suggests Donald Trump Should Be Charged for Employing Undocumented Migrant Workers

Ann Coulter Suggests Donald Trump Should Be Charged for Employing Undocumented Migrant Workers

August 12, 2019

Right-wing commentator and former avid supporter of President Donald Trump Ann Coulter has asked why the president and other employers have not been charged with a crime for hiring undocumented migrants.

“Yes, why WON’T authorities charge the employers using all the illegal alien workers?” Coulter wrote on Twitter, sharing an op-ed from The Washington Post calling out Trump’s double standard of allegedly employing undocumented migrants while his administration raids other companies and deports working immigrants without legal status.

“ANSWER: BOTH REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS SUCK UP TO EMPLOYERS FOR THEIR CAMPAIGN DONATIONS,” Coulter answered her own question.

Coulter previously wrote a book entitled In Trump We Trust back in 2016, but has since soured on the president. The major political issue for the right-wing commentator was cracking down on undocumented immigration and building a wall at the southern border of the U.S. with Mexico. As time has passed without immigration policies that are hardline enough in her opinion, Coulter has steadily lashed out at Trump, predicting that he will be beat by a Democratic opponent in 2020.

The article re-tweeted by Coulter was titled “Another Trump double standard hurting the poor and minorities.” In the op-ed, thePost’s opinion editor James Downie detailed how the Trump administration has neglected to go after employers for hiring undocumented workers, choosing instead to largely just punish the migrants. Downie also pointed out that reporting by the Post has shown that the president’s company, The Trump Organization, has employed undocumented individuals at several of its properties.

“It’s worth noting that this discrepancy in enforcement is a policy change under the Trump administration. Before President Barack Obama’s first term was over, his administration had already accumulated more audits and penalties on employers than were imposed during both terms of of the George W. Bush administration,” Downie wrote.

“Funny how employer audits almost completely dried up after a president whose companies employ undocumented immigrants entered office,” he pointed out.

Last week, The Post reported that at least at least eight Trump properties have hired a number of undocumented workers. The newspaper and other media outlets have repeatedly reported on the president’s company employing migrants without legal status in the past, despite Trump’s hardline immigration policies and routine criticism of individuals attempting to immigrate to the U.S.

On Sunday, CNN anchor Jake Tapper questioned acting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Mark Morgan, who previously served as acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), why none of Trump’s personal businesses had been raided.

Trump gives early release to violent criminals and sex offenders

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/dozens-of-violent-criminals-have-been-released-under-first-step-act-data-shows

Violent criminals and sex offenders released early due to ‘First Step Act’ legislation

July 23, 2019

More than a hundred violent criminals and sex offenders have been released under the First Step Act, President Trump’s signature bipartisan criminal justice reform package, according to data from an administration official provided to Fox News on Monday.

The data, first obtained exclusively by “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” seemingly contradicted promises from lawmakers and the White House that the legislation would largely affect only prisoners sentenced for minor drug-related offenses. Of 2,243 inmates released under the First Step Act, only 960 were incarcerated for drug-related offenses.

On the other hand, 496 were in prison for weapons/explosives-related crimes, 239 for sex offenses, 178 for fraud/bribery/extortion, 118 for burglary/larceny and 106 for robbery, according to the data.

Another 59 were imprisoned over homicide/aggravated assault, 46 for immigration-related offenses, nine for counterfeiting/embezzlement and two for national security reasons.

In all, 2,023 of the inmates were male, while only 211 inmates were female. 1,017 of the 2,243 inmates are black, while 1,129 are white, 62 American Indian and 35 Asian/Pacific Islander.

The Justice Department announced last Friday that 3,100 federal inmates were being released as part of the First Step Act, which has been heralded by Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., as a start to righting a “broken” criminal justice system that has “disproportionately harmed communities of color.”

Nevertheless, on Tuesday, special assistant to the president Ja’Ron Smith told “Tucker Carlson Tonight” that many of the violent inmates would shortly have been released regardless of the First Step Act.

WHAT ARE THE PROVISIONS OF THE FIRST STEP ACT?

Several hundred of the 3,100 released inmates were transferred into Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody or state prisons, which accounts for the discrepancy from the 2,243 figure provided by the administration official.

Speaking on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Louisiana Republican John Sen. Kennedy, who was one of a handful of lawmakers to oppose the bill, said the numbers were predictable.

“Good intentions sometimes have nothing to do with actual consequences,” Kennedy told Carlson. “We were told that this would only allow low-level, nonviolent criminals to go free. I didn’t believe it, and I didn’t believe it because I read the bill. And now we find out that in the first traunch of prisoners let free, 500 committed weapons or explosive crimes, 250 committed sex crimes, I think there were 60 or 70 that were guilty of homicide or aggravated assault. And those are not low-level, nonviolent criminals.”

Kennedy went on to describe the leadup to the bill as a “complete lie.” He said he had offered an amendment that would have required victims to be notified about inmates’ release, but that it was vetoed.

“To me, this is pretty simple,” Kennedy said. “I believe in the Kantean definition of justice. C.S. Lewis talked about it. Saint Augustine talked about it. Justice exists when people get what they deserve. Justice is not necessarily deterrence, or rehabilitation, though that can be a byproduct.”

Kennedy added: “And I don’t know why it is, Tucker — if I make it to heaven, I’m going to ask — but there are some people in this world, they’re not mixed up, they’re not confused, they’re not sick, it’s not a question that their mama or daddy didn’t love them enough.

“They’re just bad. And when they commit criminal acts, justice required they be punished.”

At the State of the Union address earlier this year, Trump touted the First Step Act as a major breakthrough focusing on nonviolent offenders.

“This legislation reformed sentencing laws that have wrongly and disproportionately harmed the African-American community,” Trump said. “The First Step Act gives nonviolent offenders the chance to reenter society as productive, law-abiding citizens. Now, states across the country are following our lead. America is a nation that believes in redemption.”

Last week, the DOJ published new standards to identify other inmates who may be eligible for “good time” releases under the law.

“Starting today at prisons around the country, nearly 3,100 inmates are being released from BOP (Bureau of Prisons) custody due to the increase in good-conduct time applied to reduce their sentences under the First Step Act,” Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen told reporters.

The move marked the largest group to be freed so far under a clause in the First Step Act that reduces more sentences due to “earned good time.”

In addition to reuniting with their families, the formerly incarcerated citizens could obtain employment opportunities announced by Trump last month at the White House as part of the “Second Chance” hiring program.

The department said last week it would move $75 million in existing resources to fund the bill in the 2019 fiscal year, and launch a new “risk and needs assessment system designed to assess inmates’ risks of recidivism and to identify their individualized needs to reduce their risks of re-offending.”

Meanwhile, the bill’s retroactive application of the 2010 Fair Sentencing Act has so far resulted in 1,691 sentence reductions, the department said in a press release. The 2010 Act reduced the difference between sentences for crack cocaine and powder cocaine possession at the federal level, in a bid to reduce the racial disparity in resulting incarcerations.

Other provisions in the First Step Act ease mandatory minimum sentences under federal law. For example, the legislation reduces the “stacking” of drug offenses to drive up sentences, and prescribes 25-year terms, rather than life terms, for many “third strike” crimes.

Bernie Sanders said that it’s a “good thing” when people have to wait in line for food.

These are his exact words:

“It’s funny, sometimes American journalists talk about how bad a country is, cause people are lining up for food. That’s a good thing! In other countries people don’t line up for food: the rich get the food and the poor starve to death.”

You can see him saying it in this video:

In Milwaukee, a bunch of idiot left wing protestors told their own children to march in the street in front on oncoming traffic.

Anyone who isn’t an idiot can guess what happened next.

Fortunately, none of the innocent children – who were only doing what their idiot parents had told them to do – were hurt.

It could have ended up much worse.

Still, the surprise expressed by the idiot parents is hilarious.

What exactly did these idiot parents think was going to happen when they told their own children to march down the street in front on oncoming traffic?

You can see a video of it at this link.

Baltimore black kids escape to Trump country

By Lloyd Marcus

August 3, 2019

A year and a half ago, my wife Mary and I moved closer to our parents.  We relocated from Florida to what I nicknamed “Trump Country USA,” a tiny town in West Virginia.  I’ve seen MAGA cap–wearers and a few lawns with old Trump signs.

Our tiny town emits Christian traditional American values.  We enjoy the annual Christmas and July 4th parades.  Only a handful of blacks, which includes me, live here.

A few days after we moved into our home, our neighbor Meg welcomed us with a homemade apple pie.  Meg recently called and asked us to help with the “Friends of the Library” picnic for the kids.  The last thing I wanted to do was to spend a day with screaming kids.  Yet Mary and I knew God was setting us up to be a blessing.

The picnic was a blast.  Mary and I helped serve food, play games, and clean up afterward.  Our town’s volunteer fire department truck sprayed the kids with water.  They loved it.

I learned that the Friends of the Library summer reading program is solely funded by community fundraising events.  Two days a week, kids of all ages are read books and read books at the town library.  The theme this year was “Space” in honor of the 50th anniversary of the U.S. landing on the moon.  The kids were even treated to a road trip to a space museum.  I thought, “Wow, this town is a living breathing Norman Rockwell painting.”

At the picnic, I met an extremely bright, articulate 15-year-old black kid and his three younger siblings.  Mary read in the local newspaper that he is the best runner in the county, receiving offers and scholarships.

His grandmother is white.  She moved him and his three siblings from the Baltimore projects to live with her because their parents are drug addicts.  She laid down the law to her grandson that his Baltimore thug attitude would not be tolerated in her home.  Grandma’s tough love parenting worked.

If you watched the Democratic presidential debates, you could conclude that everyone and everything in America is racist.  In my tiny town of Trump voters, everyone appears to embrace and support the four black kids who escaped the hood of Baltimore.

Folks, I have high hopes for this kid, the runner.  I see greatness in him.  He has a calm spirit.  He is academically solid and trains hard, running several miles every day.  I gave him fatherly advice to stay focused on his dreams.  He replied, “Yes sir.”

It is amazing what a child can achieve once he is distanced from the destructive atmosphere of a Democrat-controlled city.  Despicably, Democrats and fake news media relentlessly seek to fill black youths with victim mindsets — hate for their country and hate for Trump voters.

I trust that God will give me more opportunities to mentor my young runner.  Prayerfully, I will open his eyes to the truth that he is blessed to be an American and that America is the greatest land of opportunity on the planet for all who choose to go for their dreams.  I look forward to seeing my runner on team USA in the Olympics.  That will be awesome!
