CNN legal analyst Areva Martin accuses Sirius XM radio host David Webb of having “white privilege,” despite the fact that Webb is black!

The below image of two people is taken from this link:

The person on the left is Sirius XM radio host David Webb.

The person on the right is CNN Legal Analyst Areva Martin.

Here’s a transcript from a recent conversation between the two of them:

David Webb: “Shouldn’t their requirement, their primary requirement, regardless of ethnicity, regardless of network, be that they are capable of covering politics? For instance, if you’re going to cover political campaigns, sports may not be the most qualified background. And that brings to the point of if people want to get into these fields regardless of color, I’ve chosen to cross different parts of the media world, done the work so that I’m qualified to be in each one. I never considered my color the issue. I considered my qualifications the issue.”

Areva Martin: “Well David, you know that’s a whole other long conversation about white privilege and things that you have the privilege of doing that people of color don’t have the privilege of.”

David Webb: “How do I have the privilege of white privilege?”

Areva Martin: “David, by virtue of being a white male, you have white privilege, which is a whole long conversation I don’t have time to get into.”

I’d be curious to hear Martin’s explanation for why she thinks it’s not possible for a black person to achieve the things that Webb has achieved.

Martin has just unintentionally presented us with what is – I think – the best argument against the concept of “white privilege” that I have ever heard.

NPR unintentionally reveals the existence of “black privilege”

This three minute audio segment from NPR is called “Blind hiring, while well meaning, may create unintended consequences.”

It says that “blind hiring” is a process where job applicants are interviewed by computer instead of in person, so there is no bias regarding gender or race. Applicants are given online tests such as doing a math problem, or writing computer code.

I think this is a great idea.

In the NPR audio segment, the “unintended consequence” of “blind hiring” is explained by a black female college student, who complains that under “blind hiring,” she would not get special treatment.

In the comment section, someone wrote:

“The response of the black female student to blind hiring shows that in today’s job market male whites are not the privileged group.”

I think that commentor makes a great point.

It appears as if NPR has unintentionally revealed the existence of “black privilege.”

Obama administration makes changes to Federal Aviation Administration because too many white males were passing their air traffic controller classes

The Obama administration has abandoned the old system for getting qualified air-traffic controller applicants because too many of them were white males, and replaced it with a new system that asks applicants how many different sports they played when they were in high school.

Violent pro-abortion protestor falsely claims that a 12 week old fetus does not have hands

This video has been getting a lot of attention recently. The thing that I find most interesting is that the woman in the video seems to genuinely believe that a 12-week old fetus does not have hands. She says:

“That is not what a fetus looks like. It’s a clump of cells at 12 weeks. It does not look like that. It’s a clump of cells. No hands are showing at that time.”

Meanwhile, the National Institttue of Health says:

“Week 8: Hands and feet begin to form and look like little paddles.”

I think it’s also interesting that she accuses the pro-life people of being “racist” and benefiting from “white privilege.” Time magazine reported:

The abortion rates in 2004 were 50 abortions per 1,000 black women and 28 abortions per 1,000 Hispanic women, compared with 11 out of every 1,000 white women.

Furthermore, 79% of Planned Barrenhood’s abortion clinics are located in black or hispanic neighborhoods.

Of course if “white privilege” means that white people are far less likely to be aborted, then I agree with her on that one point.

She has been charged with assault and destruction of property.

Meanwhile, the pro-life people whom she assaulted are praying for her.
