Liberals’ favorite country bans Muslim women from wearing full-face veils

Denmark bans Muslim women from wearing full-face veils.

As a person who values individual liberty and limited government, I’d be very much opposed to a law like this in the U.S. It would be a violation of the first amendment, as well as something that I would view as being totalitarian.

But Denmark is the “happiest” and “most progressive” country in the world, and who am I to tell them what to do?

I do have to wonder why Muslims would immigrate to Denmark when it is so Islamophobic.

First woman fined in Denmark for wearing full-face veil

Woman fined 1,000 kroner (£120) and told to either remove her veil or leave the public space

August 4, 2018

A 28-year-old woman wearing a niqab on Friday became the first person in Denmark to be fined for violating a new law banning full-face Islamic veils in public places, media reported.

Police were called to a shopping centre in Horsholm, in the north-eastern region of Nordsjaelland, where the woman had become involved in a scuffle with another woman who had tried to tear her niqab off, police duty officer David Borchersen told the Ritzau news agency.

“During the fight her niqab came off, but by the time we arrived she had put it back on again,” Borchersen said.

Police took a photograph of the woman wearing the niqab, and obtained security camera footage from the shopping centre of the incident.

The woman was informed she would receive a fine of 1,000 kroner (£120) in the post, and was told to either remove her veil or leave the public space.

“She chose the latter,” Borchersen said.

As of 1 August, wearing a burqa, which covers a person’s entire face, or the niqab, which only shows the eyes, in public carries a fine of 1,000 kroner.

Repeated violations can be fined up to 10,000 kroner.

The ban also targets other accessories that hide the face such as balaclavas, masks and false beards.

Human rights campaigners say the ban is a violation of women’s rights, while supporters argue it enables better integration of Muslim immigrants.

Belgium, France, Germany and Austria have also imposed bans or partial bans of full-face veils.

Bernie Sanders’ war on women

Bernie Sanders wants Nike to stop doing business in Vietnam. He recently accused Nike of

 “exploiting low-wage workers”

in Vietnam.

Unfortunately, Sanders did not actually talk to any of those Vietnamese workers to get their opinion on this issue.

Fortunately, a guy named Johan Norberg did talk to Vietnamese workers who work in a Nike factory. He then wrote the following:

But when I talk to a young Vietnamese woman, Tsi-Chi, at the factory, it is not the wages she is most happy about. Sure, she makes five times more than she did, she earns more than her husband, and she can now afford to build an extension to her house. But the most important thing, she says, is that she doesn’t have to work outdoors on a farm any more… 10 to 14 hours a day in the burning sun or the intensive rain, in rice fields with water up to your ankles and insects in your face.

Bernie Sanders wants to reduce the income of Vietnamese women by 80%.

Bernie Sanders want to force Vietnamese women to work outside in the burning sun and intense rain, with water up to their ankles, and insects in their face.

Bernie Sanders wants Vietnamese women to earn less than their husbands.

Bernie Sanders wants to prevent Vietnamese women from being able to afford adequate housing.

And above all else, Bernie Sanders believes that Vietnamese women are too stupid to make their own decisions regarding employment, and he wants to make those decisions for them.

With help from 80 years of self-described “progressives,” Obama is now waging the biggest war against medical marijuana of any president in history

Anyone who has been following the self-described “progressive” politicians since FDR should not be surprised at Obama’s war against medical marijuana.

Obama’s war against medical marijuana is a direct result of the policies of the self-described “progressives” in the White House, Congress, and the U.S. Supreme Court, going all the way back to FDR’s New Deal.

Comments from someone who is an Occupier, progressive, labor leader, and communist

This guy’s tone of voice and calm demeanor make him sound like he could be a trusted teacher, friend, or relative. I think if I knew him in real life, we could be friends, and enjoy each other’s company. He certainly seems well intentioned.

Los Angeles teachers’ unions try to shut down South Central charter school that has been very successful at teaching low-income black and Hispanic students

In 2008, the Wall. St Journal wrote the following about a real world example of a charter school which has done an excellent job of teaching low-income black and Hispanic students who live in South Central Los Angeles, California. As is always the case with successful charter schools, the teachers’ unions want it to be shut down, because they are terrified of competition. The teachers’ unions want these low-income students to be trapped in the horrible public schools:

The biggest current obstacles to medical marijuana are President Obama and the progressives on the Supreme Court

I’m a libertarian, and I think that both medical and recreational marijuana should be legal. That being said, I myself have never smoked marijuana, or tobacco, or been drunk, or used any illegal drug. I do, however, think that it’s completely ridiculous to put non-violent people in jail for using mind altering substances. And I especially detest the idea of the government preventing people from using a medical treatment which has been proven in scientific studies to be beneficial for patients who are suffering from AIDS, cancer, multiple sclerosis, glaucoma, and other medical conditions. I voted for Ron Paul for President in 2008, and I will be voting for Gary Johnson in 2012. The ridiculous “war on drugs” has caused the U.S. incarceration rate to skyrocket in recent decades – to the highest rate of any country in the entire world. Ending the “war on drugs” is my #1 most important political issue.

Government makes 1,500 fans miss baseball game because the bathroom mirrors are 1/4 inch too low

A recent five minute speech by U.S. Congressman Mike Kelly (R-Pennsylvania) has been getting a lot of attention. He talks about the red tape that the government uses to strangle businesses.

The entire video is worth watching, but my favorite part begins at 2:23. A government bureaucrat forces 1,500 fans to miss a baseball game because the mirrors in the men’s bathroom are one quarter inch too low.
