Harlan Crow collects memorabilia from the Nazis and the communists. The mainstream media only criticized him for one, and gave him a pass on the other.

When I heard about recent news reports that Harlan Crow (a friend of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas) collected Nazi memorabilia, I thought, “Maybe there’s a context to this collecting that isn’t being accurately reported – or maybe not.”
Well, as it turns out, the context is that the media has a double standard when it comes to Nazism and communism. They criticized Crow for collecting memorabilia for one, while giving him a pass on the other.
Wikipedia states:
“Crow’s backyard garden is home to at least 20 statues of authoritarian leaders and Communist icons, including Vladimir Lenin, Josef Stalin, Fidel Castro, Mao Zedong, Karl Marx, Hosni Mubarak, Josip Broz Tito, Nicolae Ceausescu, Walter Ulbricht, Gavrilo Princip, Bela Kun, and Che Guevara. Crow acquired these former public monuments after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc. According to Crow, he collects such memorabilia because he ‘hates communism and fascism.’ Crow also owns original paintings by Adolf Hitler, Claude Monet, Rembrandt Peale, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Winston Churchill, and Dwight Eisenhower.”

I hate the media’s double standard for Nazism vs communism.
On the other hand, I love the fact that Crow “hates communism and fascism.” As a libertarian, I view the two as being very similar to each other. I never understood how anyone could hate only one but not the other. If I go to a restaurant and the menu has a bowl of feces and a bowl of pus, I would walk out. And I would never understand any person who was only disgusted by one but not by the other.
And the dumbing down of our educational system continues…

Florida Principal Out After Viewing Of Michelangelo’s ‘David’ Upsets Parents

The principal of Florida’s Tallahassee Classical School is out of a job after parents complained that their sixth-grade children were shown Michelangelo’s 16th century “David” sculpture, with one parent calling it “pornographic,” the Tallahassee Democrat first reported.
The now-former principal, Hope Carrasquilla, told HuffPost the situation was also “a little more complicated than that,” noting that the usual protocol is to send parents a letter before students are shown such classical artwork.
Due to “a series of miscommunications,” the letter did not go out to the sixth-grade parents, and some complained, Carrasquilla said.
One parent was “point-blank upset,” Carrasquilla continued, and “felt her child should not be viewing those pieces.”
The board of the charter school decided Monday to give the principal the choice to resign or be fired after less than a year in the job. She was the school’s third principal since it opened in the fall of 2020, per the Tallahassee Democrat.
The move comes as conservatives in Florida and elsewhere battle to step up their input in primary education.
Michelangelo’s marble sculpture of the Biblical figure David was crafted between 1501 and 1504, originally commissioned for display inside an Italian cathedral. It now resides at the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence.
Carrasquilla said she had taught in classical education for a decade and knew that “once in a while you get a parent who gets upset about Renaissance art” — hence the letter. She was not surprised by the reaction from the school board chair, Barney Bishop, but the fact that other board members went along with him was unexpected.
In a call with HuffPost, Bishop emphasized that the nude sculpture incident was one of multiple issues with Carrasquilla. He declined to go into specifics, citing advice from the school’s employment lawyers.
Bishop explained he was lobbying for legislation that would give parents even more input in primary education.
“Parental rights trump everything else,” Bishop said. He added that the pandemic’s remote teaching gave parents a clearer window into their children’s education and prompted some to choose schools like Tallahassee Classical.
“They didn’t like the woke indoctrination that was going on,” he said.
Bishop accused Carrasquilla of trying to “gin up a lot of publicity” by sharing her experience.
Carrasquilla said many other parents and faculty members were upset about her ouster and have been reaching out with support.
The Tallahassee school is a public charter institution that focuses on classical learning, a teaching philosophy centered on a traditional Western liberal arts education that aims to impart critical thinking skills children can use throughout their lives. Classical learning is also popular within the Christian homeschooling movement.
The Tallahassee Classical School is affiliated with Hillsdale College, a conservative Christian institution that has sought to expand its influence over the last decade by helping set up public charter schools. Hillsdale briefly cut ties with the Tallahassee school in early 2022 for not meeting improvement standards, but it later regained affiliation.
Hillsdale has raised funds for the charter school network by pledging to fight “leftist” and “distorted” teaching of American history, such as the lessons about slavery contained in The New York Times’ 1619 Project, the newspaper reported last year.
“We don’t use pronouns,” Bishop said. “We don’t teach CRT and we don’t ever mention 1619 — those are not appropriate subjects for our kids.”

Hamline University, a self described “liberal arts” college, fired a lecturer for showing adult students this piece of controversial art that is considered by art historians to be “a global artistic masterpiece.”
Some students had complained to the college that the artwork included a depiction the Prophet Muhammad, which is against their religion. Instead of standing up for the “liberal arts,” the college fired the lecturer who showed the artwork. Art historians consider the artwork to be “a global artistic masterpiece.”

Michelle Obama chose a racist artist to paint her official portrait
Michelle Obama chose an artist named Amy Sherald to paint her official portrait.
The New York Times writes of Sherald:
Ms. Sherald only paints African-Americans.
I can’t wait for all the social justice warriors who want the government to force bakers to bake cakes for gay weddings, to use the exact same logic to try to get the government to force Sherald to paint portraits of white customers.
Just kidding. We all know those hypocrites are never going to do that.
Here’s the Archie Comics cover art with Betty Cooper holding a gun that was announced but later canceled
Earlier this year, the official Archie Comics website posted this cover artwork for the upcoming Betty and Veronica Comics Double Digest 253:

However, when the title eventually got released, the cover had this other artwork instead:

The fact that the first cover says “comics double digest” while the second one says “summer annual” does not mean that these are different titles. The official title is “Betty and Veronica Comics Double Digest.” The words “summer annual” simply indicate that this issue has a few dozen extra pages in it – it’s still the same title. So I’m not getting one title confused with another.
Anyway, it’s sad that the powers that be canceled the release of the cover artwork with Betty Cooper holding a gun.

The “sexist” shirt worn by rocket scientist Matt Taylor was actually made by a female friend who gave it to him for his birthday
So this rocket scientist named Matt Taylor lands a spacecraft on a comet – the first time that this has ever been done – and a bunch of people claiming to be “feminists” accuse him of “sexism” because he was wearing a shirt which depicts scantily clad women holding guns.
My first reaction to reading about this was that if these women are holding guns, they are not victims – they are empowered.
Then, when I looked at the shirt, I immediately saw that this was a richly detailed, beautiful, colorful piece of art. I know the difference between art and porn, and this is definitely not porn. It is art.
The shirt was handmade by a woman named Elly Prizeman, who is friends with Taylor, and who gave it to him for his birthday.
The people who falsely claimed the shirt was “sexist” bullied Taylor to the point that he cried on international television.
Prizeman said of this:
Dr. Matt Taylor is an amazing, kind, loving and sensitive person.
I never expected him to wear my gift to him for such a big event and was surprised and deeply moved that he did.
I made that shirt for his birthday last month as I make clothes just as a hobby and he asked if I would make him one.
He is a close and very loved friend so made sure I did this for his birthday present.
I appreciate that everyone is entitled to their opinion and having worked with people and events for a long time I have certainly learnt that you are never going to please everyone….
I am so proud of Matt and his achievements and the fact he is an interesting and very brave person to do what he did with the very sweet gesture he made towards my gift and to wear his individuality with pride.
It has certainly made history more exciting and bold.
The clothing industry has expressed interest in mass producing Prizeman’s shirt.
