One year after her first false denials, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is still trying to pretend that she doesn’t want to ban airplanes and cows
By Daniel Alman (aka Dan from Squirrel Hill)

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just stated the following:
“… as we’ve discussed the Green New Deal, I’ve noticed that there’s been an awful lot of misinformation about what is inside this resolution – a tremendous amount of wild claims – everything from saying we’re seeking to ban airplanes to ending ice cream…”
You can see and hear her saying those words in this video. Skip to 1:00
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_Fma_esNe4
While it’s true that the specific resolution that she is referring to does not say anything about banning airplanes and cows, Ocasio-Cortez herself does support such a ban.
A year ago, Ocasio-Cortez put a document on her official Congressional website which said she wanted to get rid of airplanes and cows.
After a huge number of people criticized her for this, she took the document down.
Fortunately, the internet archive has a copy of that same webpage from Ocasio-Cortez’s official Congressional website at this link: https://web.archive.org/web/20190207191119/https://ocasio-cortez.house.gov/media/blog-posts/green-new-deal-faq
The original link (which no longer works) to the page at Ocasio-Cortez’s official Congressional website is https://ocasio-cortez.house.gov/media/blog-posts/green-new-deal-faq
In addition, NPR (a highly reliable source, which liberals love) published a copy of the same document at this link: https://apps.npr.org/documents/document.html?id=5729035-Green-New-Deal-FAQ
And in case NPR ever takes that page down, here is the internet archive of that NPR page: https://web.archive.org/web/20190207164217/https://apps.npr.org/documents/document.html?id=5729035-Green-New-Deal-FAQ
Here are Ocasio-Cortez’s exact words, as reported by NPR:
“Yes, we are calling for a full transition off fossil fuels and zero greenhouse gases. Anyone who has read the resolution sees that we spell this out through a plan that calls for eliminating greenhouse gas emissions from every sector of the economy. Simply banning fossil fuels immediately won’t build the new economy to replace it – this is the plan to build that new economy and spells out how to do it technically. We do this through a huge mobilization to create the renewable energy economy as fast as possible. We set a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero emissions, in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast, but we think we can ramp up renewable manufacturing and power production, retrofit every building in America, build the smart grid, overhaul transportation and agriculture, plant lots of trees and restore our ecosystem to get to net-zero.”
The version from Ocasio-Cortez’s official Congressional website is slightly different, as it replaces the phrase “farting cows” with “emissions from cows.” Since the version that she gave NPR is funnier, that’s the version that I quoted.
Anyway, that’s proof and more proof that Ocasio-Cortez really does want to ban airplanes and cows.
So her recent statement that she does not want to ban airplanes and cows is a lie.
And this is not the first time that she tried to pretend that she never said she wanted to ban airplanes and cows.
Her earlier denial from a year ago, as reported in this article by the Washington Post, was that Saikat Chakrabarti, Ocasio-Cortez’s chief of staff, blamed “typos” for the fact that Ocasio-Cortez’s official Congressional website said that Ocasio-Cortez wanted to ban airplanes and cows.
The Washington Post reported that Chakrabarti said:
“People are trying to take the focus away from the big picture to these little typos.”
Typos?
Seriously?
I’m not buying that.
A “typo” is when you type “pwn” instead of “own.”
There is no way that the following text from Ocasio-Cortez’s official Congressional website is a “typo”
“The Green New Deal sets a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero emissions, at the end of this 10-year plan because we aren’t sure that we will be able to fully get rid of, for example, emissions from cows or air travel before then.”
There’s no way that those words are a “typo.”
Someone deliberately typed those words into the document.
And who might that someone be?
Well, as I explained in this previous post, the document’s metadata proves that the document was created by Saikat Chakrabarti, Ocasio-Cortez’s chief of staff.
That’s the same Saikat Chakrabarti who blamed “typos” for the fact that Ocasio-Cortez’s official Congressional website said that Ocasio-Cortez wanted to get rid of airplanes and cows.
Chakrabarti’s lie about “typos” is just as unbelievable as the other lie that I mentioned in my previous post, where Ocasio-Cortez advisor and Cornell Law School professor Robert Hockett blamed “Republicans” for starting a rumor about the document being on Ocasio-Cortez’s official Congressional website. Here’s the video of that again. Skip to 1:06

At the end of that previous post, I wrote:
“Hockett is a Professor of Law at Cornell Law School. So I’m 100% certain that he is familiar with the laws against defamation. I hope that he will apologize to the “Republicans” that he falsely accused of lying about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s positions on the above issues.”
Hockett must have read my post, because he later admitted that he had been wrong.
So first they blamed this on “Republicans.”
And then later, they’re blamed it on “typos.”
And now, with Ocasio-Cortez’s most recent statement, she’s still trying to pretend that she does not want to ban airplanes and cows.
Again, to be clear, Ocasio-Cortez was telling the truth when she said that the current resolution does not say anything about banning airplanes and cows.
Her lie is when she said that it’s a “wild claim” that she wants to ban airplanes and cows.
It’s not a “wild claim,” because she said it on her own Congressional website, as well as in a document that she gave to NPR.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez advisor and Cornell Law School professor Robert Hockett falsely blames “Republicans” for the fact that Ocasio-Cortez’s official Congressional website said that Ocasio-Cortez wanted to get rid of airplanes, stop cows from farting, and give “economic security” to everyone who was “unwilling to work”
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently put a document on her official Congressional website which said she wanted to get rid of airplanes, stop cows from farting, and give “economic security” to everyone who was “unwilling to work.”
After a huge number of people criticized her for this, she took the document down.

The document in question says the following:
The Green New Deal sets a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero emissions, at the end of this 10-year plan because we aren’t sure that we will be able to fully get rid of, for example, emissions from cows or air travel before then.
The same document also says:
Any large-scale transformation of society can create the risk of some people slipping through the cracks. That’s why the Green New Deal also calls for an upgrade to the basic economic securities enjoyed by all people in the US to ensure everybody benefits from the newly created wealth. It guarantees to everyone:
A job with family-sustaining wages, family and medical leave, vacations, and retirement security
High-quality education, including higher education and trade schools
High-quality health care
Clean air and water
Healthy food
Safe, affordable, adequate housing
An economic environment free of monopolies
Economic security to all who are unable or unwilling to work
That second quote reminds of this cartoon, which is a parody of the nationally syndicated comic strip The Wizard of Id. Like I said, this is a parody of The Wizard of Id. It is not a real Wizard of Id cartoon. Copied form this link, and poster here under fair use:
The cartoon starts out with a political candidate and his assistant talking in private. Here’s the text of their conversation:
Assistant: What are you offering the peasants in your election speech today?
Candidate: Nothing they can afford to refuse.
The rest of the cartoon shows the same candidate giving a speech to a large crowd of people. Here’s the text for that:
Candidate: Elect me, and I promise you free health care!
The crowd cheers.
Candidate: Free housing! Free clothing! Food stamps!
The crowd cheers again.
Candidate: And jobs for everybody!
The crowd cheers again.
Candidate: Any questions? Yes?
Man in the crowd: What do we need jobs for?
Heh heh. That guy in the crowd is a heck of a lot smarter than any liberal politician that I have ever heard of.
Anyway, after a huge number of people criticized Ocasio-Cortez for wanting to get rid of airplanes, stop cows from farting, and give “economic security” to everyone who was “unwilling to work,” Ocasio-Cortez removed the page from her official Congressional website.
What’s even worse is that Ocasio-Cortez advisor and Cornell Law School professor Robert Hockett falsely blamed “Republicans” for the document being on Ocasio-Cortez’s official Congressional website.
Here’s a video of Hockett on Fox news, where he falsely blames “Republicans” for the document that Ocasio-Cortez had put on her official Congressional website. Skip to 1:06

Fortunately, the internet archive and NPR have both saved the document in question.
In addition, the Gateway Pundit has published this article, which says that the document’s metadata proves that the document was created by Saikat Chakrabarti, Ocasio-Cortez’s chief of staff. The Gateway Pundit article includes this image of the metadata:
Hockett is a Professor of Law at Cornell Law School. So I’m 100% certain that he is familiar with the laws against defamation. I hope that he will apologize to the “Republicans” that he falsely accused of lying about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s positions on the above issues.
After years of hard work and studying, Trayvon Martin has earned a well deserved bachelor’s degree in aeronautical science from Florida Memorial University
According to this article from the New York Times, Trayvon Martin was just awarded a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical science from Florida Memorial University.
Martin worked very hard to earn this degree.
For example, after a school security camera showed Martin marking graffiti, a search of his backpack showed that it contained 12 pieces of women’s jewelry, including silver wedding rings, and earrings with diamonds. The backpack also had a screwdriver, which is often used as a tool by burglars. Martin said that the jewelry belonged to a friend, but refused to say who that friend was. It’s nice that Martin has such an interest in geology and metallurgy. It’s also a good sign of Martin’s moral character that he protected his friend.
In addition, testing showed that there was THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, in Martin’s system. This is exactly the kind of thing that pilots need in order to safely transport their passengers.
Furthermore, Martin broke George Zimmerman’s nose, and smashed Zimmerman’s head against the concrete. There are very few pilots who have ever managed to achieve this much bodily harm to Zimmerman.
Based on all of these accomplishments, I’m certain that Martin will make an excellent pilot. I can’t wait to have him as my pilot the next time I go on vacation.
I’m sure that Martin’s degree will greatly enhance the reputation of Florida Memorial University, as well as increase the prestige and earning potential of its graduates.
When it comes to STEM subjects, MIT, Caltech, and Carnegie Mellon are usually considered to be the best universities. And for sure, the people who go to these great halls of learning do possess a superior level of intellect and intelligence. But I think Martin’s hard work and achievements have shown that Florida Memorial University outperforms and eclipses them all when it comes to attracting, teaching, and graduating the very best and brightest mathematical and scientific geniuses.
I have no doubt that Martin will go on to win a Nobel Prize in Physics, as well as a Fields Medal.
Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler, Newton, Einstein, and Hawking are all well regarded for their scientific genius, and I’m certain that in 500 years from now, Martin’s name will be just as well known for his contributions to the world of scientific knowledge and discovery.
Shame on my fellow Jews for holding up commercial flights by refusing to sit next to women!
I’m Jewish, and please allow me to say that it’s absurd that some Jewish men have caused commercial flights to be delayed by refusing to sit next to female passengers.
In September 2014, the New York Post reported:
Ultra-Orthodox Jews refuse to sit next to women, delay flight
Hundreds of Ultra-Orthodox Jewish men refused to sit next to women on an El Al jet from New York to Israel — and spent the 11-hour flight trying to bribe people to switch seats and loudly praying in the aisles when they refused.
“It was an 11-hour long nightmare,” one of the passengers told Israel’s ynet news Web site after the Wednesday morning flight landed.
The flight – on the eve of Rosh Hashanah – was not only delayed, but degenerated into chaos once in the air, passengers said.
“Although everyone had tickets with seat numbers that they purchased in advance, they asked us to trade seats with them, and even offered to pay money, since they cannot sit next to a woman. It was obvious that the plane won’t take off as long as they keep standing in the aisles,” said passenger Amit Ben-Natan, a passenger.
In December 2014, the Daily Mail reported:
Delta Airlines flight from New York’s JFK Airport delayed after ultra-Orthodox Jewish passengers refuse to sit next to women
A Delta Airlines flight from New York’s JFK Airport to Israel was delayed by half an hour when a group of ultra-Orthodox Jewish men refused to sit next to female passengers.
Delta Flight 468, bound for Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, was reportedly held up due to several Haredi passengers refusing to to sit in their assigned seats, which were in between two women.
The behavior by these so-called “men,” and the disrespect that they showed to women in a public setting, is inexcusable.
Yes, when you’re at your synagogue, or in other areas where everyone agrees with and is accepting of your religious views, it’s OK not to sit next to women.
But when you are in a public accommodation, where not everyone shares your religious point of view, you have no right to force your religious beliefs on to other people. It is up to you, not other people, to be the flexible one. It is your responsibility, not that of other people, to adapt your behavior .
And if you don’t like the rules on the airplane, then don’t buy a ticket.
Or, buy an entire row of tickets.
But don’t force other people to alter their behavior to accommodate your religious beliefs.
