Philadelphia councilwoman Cindy Bass introduces bill that would force Asian shopkeepers to remove their bulletproof glass

Despite the fact that bulletproof glass has saved the lives of Asian shopkeepers, Philadelphia councilwoman Cindy Bass has introduced a bill that would force them to remove it.

The Asian shopkeepers claim the bill is racist. Bass says they are mistaken.

But Bass hasn’t offered any other explanation for her proposal, other than to say that she wants to “control” these stores, which she claims are a “source of trouble.”

I’d say the real “source of trouble” is the criminals who try to shoot and stab the employees of these stores.

And banning bulletproof glass will make that problem bigger, not smaller.

Controversial bill would force business owners to take down bulletproof glass

November 27, 2017

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) – A controversial bill is currently working its way through city hall designed to regulate ‘stop and go’ liquor stores. One part of the bill would force business owners to take down bulletproof glass inside their stores. But at what cost to their safety?

Broad Deli sits on the corner of the 2200 block of North Broad, inside a wall of bulletproof glass separates customers from workers.

“The most important thing is safety and the public’s safety,” owner Rich Kim said.

Rich Kim’s family has run the deli, which sells soda, snacks, meals and beer by the can for 20 years. He says the glass went up after a shooting and claims it saved his mother-in-law from a knife attack. Now, he may be forced to take some of the barrier down.

“If the glass comes down, the crime rate will rise and there will be lots of dead bodies,” he said.

A bill moving through city council reads: “No establishment shall erect or maintain a physical barrier.”

It’s called the ‘Stop and Go’ bill and is being offered by city councilwoman Cindy Bass.

“Right now, the plexiglass has to come down,” she said.

She wants to put some controls on these small stores that she says sell booze, very little food and are the source of trouble in her district.

Rich Kim resents the charge stores like his attract loiters and argues calls to police are often met with a slow response.

Mike Choe runs a non-profit supporting Korean-owned businesses. He plans on raising $100,000 to fight the measure.

“I do think it’s a bad bill that will endanger Korean Americans,’ he said.

Bass says she’s battling for her constituents.

Kim argues as a Korean-American he’s being targeted.

“This bill targets Korean Americans,” Cole asked. Bass responded, “Absolutely not. I find that offensive.”

Blacks are jealous and resentful of successful, hardworking Asians and target us and our stores for crime. This POS black woman wants to make it easier for black thugs to kill us.

      It’s called “re-distribution,” It’s a Democrat Party staple.

This woman is trying to make it easier for black thugs to kill and injure non-black store owners.

Went to a store in Providence Rhode Island a few years back, the entire store was behind bullet proof glass, a small Vietnamese family behind the glass. You pointed at what you wanted, they put it into a drawer that was like a artillery container, after you paid.

Based on that one purchase, and my fellow “customers”… I would want a frigging assault rifle too.

Amen to that. I think ‘Cindy’ needs a lesson in what it is like to be victimized by black thugs. She’s the type of racist hater that wants to take away our ability and right to defend ourselves and our loved ones and businesses from the feral thugs that share her race. She’s going to be VERY sorry that she started this. Karma is a bitch and ‘Cindy’ needs to fall victim to the same threats that we as Asian Americans face each and every day from the inner city communities that vote for pieces of S*IT like ‘Cindy’.

She certainly seems very racist. When she confronted a Korean store employee about the grocery store supposedly selling too much alcohol and not enough food, she said disdainfully “What kind of food do you sell? What can I buy here to eat? Noodles.” An obvious crack at Asian people eating noodles. And then complained the owner of the store “doesn’t speak enough English.” And her previous bill, which I can’t believe got passed, makes store owners responsible for criminal behavior that happens on the sidewalk and the street outside their buildings. Um, that’s YOUR job, Councilwoman Bass, you need to get the police to clean up that behavior. You really think Korean business owners should have to risk their lives going out and shooing away the drug dealers and prostitutes working the streets in front of their businesses? She’s just terrible, this proposal needs to be fought, with legal action if necessary, and her previous bill that is now law needs to be challenged in court.

Buy a AK47 and bullet proof vest

Comrade Mayor Kenney has deprived these capitalist store owners of soda profits, now, in tandem, Comrade Councilman Bass will ensure it’s easier for sanctuaried illegal aliens and jihadi “refugees” to shoot them. How dare these profiteers try to make make money in a socialist utopia? All money belongs to the Democrat Party and their cronies. Forward, Comrades!
