“The Jeffersons” explains why you shouldn’t vote for someone just because they’re black

This season one episode of “The Jeffersons” is called “Like Father Like Son.” As is always the case with early seasons of this excellent show, the entire episode is worth watching. But the part I most want to draw your attention to runs from 13:08 to 16:28

Oh, know what would go great with this — the parallel episode from All in the Family! (Norman Lear always recycled.) Darn, I’ll have to see if I can track it down on IMDB and see if there are any YouTube clips.

Any Archie Bunker fans out there? Know which episode I’m thinking of?

I think you might be referring to “George and Archie Make a Deal” from season five. George runs for political office as a Republican, and the only member of the Bunker household who votes for him is Archie. YouTube has it here, divided into two separate videos:

You, sir, are truly a fan. Yes, that’s the one. And I love it that Archie’s signature “bounces” on the petition.

        Thanks for finding the episode!

You’re welcome. I’m always happy to use my excessively vast knowledge of TV shows to help other people.
